Berkshire, September 2010
We were recommended to this stunning family home by a previous client. Newly built in the beautiful Berkshire countryside, this property required an interior and exterior lighting design which would complement its striking features.
The client wished to highlight the building’s fantastic double height living space, glass stair case and stunning bi fold doors, which lead out to an extensive garden and swimming pool. We designed a scheme which would meet these needs, whilst providing them with a practical and user friendly system.
What we did
For the impressive family area, we installed the Star 360 Recessed Adjustable Down-light to provide minimal glare. We also hung feature pendants here, to highlight key elements such as the dining table and relaxation areas. The dramatic, contemporary glass stair case, which you can see in the second photo, was accentuated with the Basic Curve Low Level Light. We positioned these at 1 metre intervals to achieve that ultramodern light and dark contrast. The frame of the client’s beautiful bi fold doors was illuminated by using the Hurricane LED Floor Up-light. And finally, for the exterior of the property, we installed the simple but striking Storm Adjustable Spike Spot with its minimalist, wall mounted, up and down fitting.
Our client loves the look and feel of their new lighting system and its practical flexibility, which they have full control of now via their state of the art Rako Dimming system.
